Portfolio Advice for Student Guidance

Portfolio advice and preparation for all design courses. 400 portfolios, 100 suitability tests, 30 accepted students - what did 30 people do right, that 370 others didn't?

In the case of aptitude tests for design courses, future students should show what understanding they have for creative processes and whether they understand a craft well, and should be able to formulate and argue ideas and concepts, and ultimately implement them visually. Potential students should realise that often the course leaders are not always looking for perfection; rather they are looking for something special and distinctive. In the courses, professional lecturers will help prepare you for study at universities and academies. You will be taught life drawing, representational drawing, and the basics of design. You will also be guided in a special series of exercises for generating ideas, and will receive individual help in composing portfolios for courses in fashion, design, visual communication, fine art, and art teaching.
