Questions about course bookings

How can I book a course?

  • The courses are bookable online. Select your course, create a customer account, and book the chosen course. If you do not have an account yet, you can easily register for one. You can also apply in writing, i.e. by email, post, or fax.

Can I book a course by phone?

  •  We are happy to give you information about course vacancies by phone, but we prefer that you book the courses online.

Questions about cancelling a course booking

How can I cancel a booked course?

  • You can cancel a course online in the customer area. You can also cancel in writing, i.e. by email, post, or fax.

Will I be charged any cancellation fees?

  • After you have booked the course, the following costs will be charged:
  • Up to 14 days after booking: free of charge
  • Up to 10 days before the beginning of the course: 10% of the course fee
  • 9-1 days before the course starts: 50% of the course fee
  • At the start of the course: 100% of the course fee

Questions about prices and discounts

Who can receive a discount? 

  • Reduced prices apply to pupils and students at state / religious schools and universities.

How much do the courses cost?

Working at the weekend

Can I work in the studio at the weekend?

  • In the case of 10-day courses (2 x Mon-Fri), you can work at your own workstation during the weekend between the two weeks without incurring any additional costs. The studios are open from 11am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. There will be no tutor support at weekends. Some courses are excluded from this regulation for various reasons (for example courses with risk of injury, courses in the media workshop). In general, it is possible to work in the painting and drawing classes and to a limited extent in the printing workshops.  If you wish to participate at the weekend you must register with the administrative staff on site.


Are there any restaurants or similar nearby?

  • During the courses you can usually purchase an inexpensive lunch at the restaurant "Herrlich Ehrlich" on the premises of the Academy. The restaurant is open from Thursday - Sundy from 17 to 22 o´clock, if you want to know if the resataurant will be open duriny your course feel free to contact us by phone.
  • You can get everything for your daily needs at the supermarket nearby
  • Approx. 10 minutes’ walk away is an Asian fast food restaurant with delivery service, as well as another supermarket
  • On Karl-Marx-Straße, about 15 minutes' walk away, you will find the K3-new, an Asian restaurant with predominantly Thai cuisine
  • On Gneisenaustraße in Trier-West there is the West-Imbiss snack bar
  • There is an Italian restaurant (Pizzeria Da Massimo) located on Eurener Straße, approx. 2 km from the EAFA
  • The Hotel Eurener Hof in the Euren district, just 5 minutes by car from the EAFA, offers an affordable lunch on weekdays.

Bus and Train

How do I get from the station to the Academy?

  • From the train-station, take a bus line (for example, line 3) to Porta Nigra, take line 1 towards Euren and get off at the "Westbahnhof" stop, from there it is about 5 minutes on foot.
